In fact, Lisbon is considered one of the greenest capitals in Europe and therefore, there are amazing parks and gardens for you to enjoy while visiting the city. Below we are happy to share with you our favorite parks and gardens in Lisbon.

Number 1: Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques

Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques was built in honor of Portugal first king, D. Afonso Henriques. Its magic is not in the size but rather in the presence of Lisbon inhabitants that fill this park. Here you can go for a morning run, a coffee, if you would just like to relax a little bit from your busy day visiting the city or for a picture at the Fonte Luminosa. From our beautiful hotel, it is only a 10 minutes walk to this area.

Bela Vista park stands for beautiful view in English. It is a beautiful park located in Lisbon. Due to its size, its home every 2 years to the Rock in Rio festival receiving national and international artist. If you fancy to visit this park, it has a lot to offer to its visitors for running, picnic and as a beautiful view points. From our boutique hotel – Hotel Luena, we recommend you take the bus 708 for a visit to this park.

Number 3: Parque Eduardo VII

Parque Eduardo VII is located in the north part of the Avenida da Liberdade and the Marques de Pombal Square. The park was named after Edward II who was a British king, who came to Lisbon for a visit in 1903 with the goal to reinforce the Anglo-Portuguese relations.

This park has a great area for running as well as relaxing under a tree and is home to some of the city events during the year being the most famous one the annual Lisbon book fair.

If you pass by the park, our recommendation is to stop by the two estufas which are filled with an amazing variety of tropical plants and exotic palms as well as cacti.

Number 4: Gulbenkian Gardens

These Gardens are one of the most well-known parks in the city for Lisbon inhabitants and are home to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Museum and the Center of Modern Art.
